The Stamford Center for the Performing Arts has a wide variety of shows on its upcoming calendar of events.
In 1927, Vuono's Palace Theatre opened in Stamford and was called "Connecticut's Most Magnificent" vaudeville house, turning away hundreds of would-be attendees on its opening night. For almost 90 years since its auspicious beginning, this gorgeous theater has been the best showcase for entertainment and the arts in downtown Stamford. Now simply called the Palace Theatre, this venue hosts some of the best performing arts events in the region, ranging from comedy acts to symphony concerts and jazz band performances.
This historic venue has a great lineup planned for family-friendly entertainment in 2015. Throughout the autumn months, the Palace will see acts including Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" on October 30 and 31, the Stamford Symphony on November 14 and 15, and the Connecticut Ballet's performance of "The Nutcracker" on December 19 and 20. Throughout the fall and into 2016, the Upright Citizens Brigade brings comedy, the Ben Allison Group and Denise Donatelli offer jazz, and the music of Irving Berlin celebrates cabaret. This is one of the very best theatre venues in Stamford CT, featuring 810 great seats. The venue's mission to stage a variety of works is certainly met, so it's easy to find something engaging for date night or an evening with the family.
Hilton Stamford Hotel and Executive Meeting Center is less than 2 miles away from the Palace, making it the perfect place to stay before or after a show. Relax after the evening's entertainment in one of our comfortable guest rooms, or enjoy the contemporary and creative American cuisine served in our Senses restaurant. Our staff is happy to welcome attendees of the Palace Theatre to take advantage of our nearby hospitality when they take in a world-class show.
